The world of Graphic Design is as wide as the internet. In my opinion, Graphic Design is the gateway to anywhere, you can go to a developer to make a front end, you can go to marketing to do copywriting there or whatever. With the growing need for designers and the increasing number of people who can do Graphic Design, we might want to be able to learn that.

My experience as a designer is self-taught, through videos spread on the Internet such as on YouTube. I started studying Design by myself starting in 2016, in that year there were probably still a few Design tutorials in Indonesian because I am from Indonesia. But from there I started to slowly study Design and also learn English.

First Journey

The first thing I learned was how to use the Adobe Photoshop application to create image manipulation, that’s where I was able to recognize many Photoshop tools for editing, by studying image manipulation we can also learn about the nature of light and shadow properties in 3D images, how to create things. to be like real.

Traversing towards 2D images

The second thing I learned was how to make the results of the manipulation function not only as images, but how to convey messages through the results of the manipulation, perhaps by adding text or making brochures for advertising, that’s where I was able to learn to create 2D designs using Adobe Illustrator, you are right the second application I learned was Adobe Illustrator. The tools from Adobe Illustrator are not much different from the tools from Adobe Photoshop, we tend to be able to easily interact from Photoshop to Illustrator. In Illustrator there are more tools that we can use to design 2D shapes than in Photoshop, but Illustrator tends to be a bit difficult to use for image manipulation.

Be Useful

The third thing is to apply skills so that they can be useful for other people. Applying skills into real projects is a matter of pride for me because apart from practicing skills in the field of Design, I can also help and make myself useful for other people.

And all of that, in my opinion, is why we don’t need to spend money to study graphic design because nowadays we can look for any information, even knowledge. We can learn all knowledge because the internet is very wide and now there is ChatGPT which really makes it easier for us to dig deeper into the knowledge we want to learn.
